Fox News at Nine's Brittney Hibbs hears why some people living in the area say the city should back off.
A popular bar for Iowa students may soon be forced to close their doors.
"It’s different. You come and there's not as many people here and its just slower."
"I think they'll be out of business honestly. I know 808 is hurting the same way. Everyone is hurting the same way. I think a lot of people will be out of business."
The Summit forced by the city to only allow 21 year olds in their bar says they've lost 2/3 of their revenue because of the new law.
"I've definitely seen it over the summer. I mean usually you come and it’s packed and there’s just not as many people here."
The bar wanted an exemption from the city’s 21 only law, but the city denied the owners request and the two will now duke it out in court.
“I don’t think it’s the city's responsibility for him to make money. If he's not making money that his problem not the city’s problem.”
Many students say plans are already in progress to rally together to try and save their college atmosphere.
"I think they'll see come November with elections its going to be overturned quickly there's a lot of angry voters. That’s part of Iowa, that’s why people come here, that’s why they go to school here."
The Summit says if things continue this way they will likely go broke by august.

Gingrich: Voters doubt Obama's ideology, ability
September 09, 2010 12:54 EDT
PELLA, Iowa (AP) -- Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich says he's confident voters will give Republicans control of the House this November because of uneasiness about President Barack Obama's ideology and his competence.
Gingrich spoke Thursday during a stop in Pella, where he met with business leaders. He planned three other events in the state.
Gingrich called Obama the most radical president in U.S. history and argued that voters are turning toward Republicans because they disagree with the president's views.
He also cautioned that excessive government spending could plunge the nation into another economic crisis.
Gingrich has acknowledged he is considering seeking the GOP presidential nomination in 2012. He's made repeated visits to Iowa, where caucuses begin the presidential nominating process.
