Red light cameras will probably be up in Cedar Rapids by the beginning of December. But one Cedar Rapids neighbor says he already has proof the cameras will not work.

A bogus speeding ticket from Washington DC made its way into David Draheims mailbox.

It said I was speeding. But the gray car they showed in the sure was not my car, says Draheim.

The speeding camera in DC caught a blurry license plate and somehow the blur translated into Draheim's license plate number on his navy Escalade. The car in the picture was a gray sedan. Draheim now wonders how well speed and red light cameras in Cedar Rapids will work and if the same mistakes will be made.

CBS 2 checked with Cedar Rapids police. Captain Steve OKonek says an officer will go over each violation the camera records.

If he can't clearly view that plate number, than we are not going to send a ticket to somebody in hopes that we are right, assures Captain OKonek.

Cedar Rapids police still have not released where the ten speeding and red light cameras will go. OKonek says they should have the locations finalized within the next two weeks.Speeding Ticket Mistake

Storm brings more snow, cold and wind to Iowa
February 09, 2010 08:26 EST

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) -- First the snow, now the cold and the wind. Just another winter day in Iowa.

A slow-moving storm was dumping more snow early Tuesday as temperatures plummeted and the winds picked up.

The National Weather Service expected up to a foot of new snow by Tuesday afternoon. Since the storm started Sunday, snow amounts of 6 to 10 inches were common over central and north central Iowa. The snow was still falling over northern and eastern Iowa.

Clear skies moved across southwest Iowa overnight, allowing temperatures to drop to 15 below zero. But in northeast Iowa, it was near 30 degrees above zero in Decorah.

Winds will increase on Tuesday, causing big headaches for drivers with blowing and drifting snow.
