A hunter is shot from his own gun. It happened in Tama County on 380th Street near the Old Chambers Ford Bridge Wednesday afternoon. The DNR tells CBS 2 that one pheasant hunter was shot in the face and in the chest when his gun accidentally went off. Ex-Iowa mayor pleads guilty to drunken boating

MASON CITY, Iowa (AP) -- Former Mason City Mayor Roger Bang has pleaded guilty to a charge of operating a boat while intoxicated.
Bang was arrested by an Iowa Department of Natural Resources officer on July 27 on Clear Lake.
The Globe Gazette says Bang entered a written plea of guilty on Wednesday in Cerro Gordo County District Court. Bang was to be arraigned on the charge next week, but that hearing was canceled.
A sentencing date was not immediately set.
The charge is a serious misdemeanor punishable to a fine and up to a year in jail.
Bang served on the Mason City Council for 16 years and was mayor from 2006 through 2009, when he decided not to run again.
