Iowa's movie industry has been in the news a lot lately, with a tax break scandal leading to resignations and an investigation trying to track where the money has gone.
But all that isn't stopping one project, a zombie movie called "Collapse" filming right now in West Branch.
Kristian Leitzen tells us why they picked West Branch, and why, scandal or no, these filmmakers are going to keep shooting in Iowa.
"Ready and action!"
"Love makin' movies in Iowa."
For ten years, Mike Saunders and his partner Jason Bolinger have been shooting movies in Iowa.
"Weve always, from the beginning, intentionally stayed here in Iowa."
"I am an Iowan, and so, being a filmmaker, I like the idea of being a regional filmmaker and I think Iowa has a lot to offer."
Their latest project, "Collapse", a zombie flick, is being shot entirely in West Branch.
"It started off with just Main Street, and how quaint and beautiful this little Main Street is."
But, eventually, the entire production moved to the small town.
"Wed just like walk around town and go into a store be like "Y'know this could work for..." and we'd talk to the guy and they're like "Yeah come on in!" it's like "Its that easy? That's great, you're so awesome!"
Much of the crew is local, and there are 130 local extras playing the part of the zombies.
"Scene 67-1 take 5."
"Im having a hard time with that shuffle walk, but they're giving me good pointers."
"They had a ten page guide on how to be a zombie, so I studied it, I actually read it twice."
And the locals are fitting right in with the pros.
"We do have some Hollywood people here, like the main star Chris Mulkey and his wife, and others. They'd be the first one's to tell you "Wow this Iowa work ethic. An Iowan can do three Hollywoodians work."
The directors know what kind of an impact they're having, financially, on West Branch and Eastern Iowa.
They're happy to be spending money here.
And they know all about the current Iowa Film Office scandal.
But they say it doesn't affect them.
"Regardless of whatever happens, we're gonna keep doing projects in Iowa. We have been before and we are gonna afterwards."
"The incentive thing was only icing on the cake. We had some pretty good cake before that and we'll have cake if it doesn't stay. Its not a big deal, we'll keep making movies, it's what we love to do."
And they'll keep making them here in Iowa.
Kristian Leitzen, CBS 2 News.
"Collapse" has four more days of shooting before wrapping things up in West Branch.

Inmates assaulted officers at prison facility
November 20, 2009 17:36 EST
CORALVILLE, Iowa (AP) -- The Iowa Department of Corrections is investigating a pair of assaults on officers at its Oakdale Medical and Classification Center near Coralville.
The department reported Friday that the attacks took place on Nov. 15 and are also being investigated by the Coralville Police Department.
Officials say that in one assault, 22-year-old convicted kidnapper and robber Earl Griffin punched a guard in the shoulder and face, harming the guard's teeth and blacking both of his eyes. The attack occurred shortly after Griffin had received his medication in the facility's pill line.
The department says that a short time later, 18-year-old convicted murderer Damion Seats punched another officer in the face and neck.
Both Griffin and Seats have since been transferred to the Iowa State Penitentiary.
