Comment: Not only should there be no texing but no talking while driving or reading books or magazines. My family had watched a young woman reading a book in heavy traffic on the Coralville strip, this was at night, she had her headlight on and weaving in and out between cars all while driving. How many people need to get hurt or worst in this country before all states make it a law not to use a phone while driving? by Donna
Comment: I don't believe the teens should be singled out for texting while driving. I see people of all ages on phones, have books and newspapers laying over the steering wheel, doing their hair and makeup. So MANY are on cell phones constantly. I have been driving for about 60 years with no violations. Driving is a full-time job. I have grandchildren that drive, but are not allowed to use their phones or text while driving--they are teens. The older ones know better, too. Make it equal for all ages, not just the kids. by Sherry

Texting, and talking on cell phones whilst driving causes distraction to driving focus, often resulting in accidents which often occur in a split second, causing serious injury and/or death to others. Both texting and talking on cell phones whilst driving should be banned, for all age groups.
