Comment: ABSOLUTELY! I grew up in this town WITH A GREAT "little" zoo. We had wolves, bears, bobcats, wolverine, badger, fox, A LION(!!) and yes, even A MONKEY HOUSE! Why, we even had an arboritum! Then I get home from Vietnam and the "City Fathers" trashed it. At one point there was a petting zoo, then that died. I moved back and there's a nice little petting zoo, only to have some punk KILL THE DUCKS! C.R. is large enough for her own zoo. Sophisticated enough to IN FACT protect and maintain one. And grown-up enough to promote and enjoy it and present it as a gem in the city's crown. Go for it!!! by Frank

Comment: We need to have something positive in Eastern Iowa. I remember going to Bever Park as a little kid to see the monkeys, lions, etc. Our kids are missing a good chance to look and learn about these animals up close and close to home. The new zoo should be designed similar to the Forest Park Zoo in St. Louis or Blank Park Zoo in Des Moines or even better. The money invested would be returned sooner than most people think. One example is: People thought a Nascar style track would not go in Iowa. The Iowa Speedway is doing better than even it's promoters thought. by Howard

Comment: yes it would be great to have a zoo finally!!!! i lived here all my life and went to the zoo at beaver park and now they took that away from us. i have a little 6 yr old and we travel to the blank park zoo every year. and she told me that it would be better to have on here so we could go year round.. then schools will be able to take them on trips there.. so yes bring us a zoo pls!!!! by brian
