• FLOODS of '08 VIDEO

Despite the warmer temperatures, Thursday no homes were demoed in the flood zone. It came as disappointing news to one family.

CBS 2 continues our series: Face of the Floods. We've been following the Schlotfelt family since the Floods of ’08, watching how they cope and rebuild their lives.

Right now the Schlotfelt’s home is still standing. Though, if you look at the cracks in the foundation you have to wonder how? The home is on the demo list. It was supposed to be torn down on Thursday but the big day was pushed back.

DW Zinser, the company tearing down homes for the city, had to cancel. Before tearing down any more homes, they needed to go back and fill all of the massive holes left behind from homes they already got to. It's work that needed to be done. But it means Shannon Schlotfelt and her family still have to wait.

"It is still kind of that ball and chain kind of thing, like I still got that out there,” says Schlotfelt.

Schlotfelt wants her home torn down now because she says it is dangerous and does not want anyone getting hurt. She says vandals have already gotten into the home.

Zinser did reschedule the demolition. The new date: this Monday. CBS 2 will be out here with the Schlotfelts as they watch this chapter of their lives come to an end.Face of the Floods - Still No Demo
