Clayborn Named Big Ten Co-Defensive Player of the Week
Clayborn is a 6-3, 282-pound junior from St. Louis. MO. It's the second time this season he has won league honors. He was also named Special Teams Player of the Week after he blocked a punt and took it in for a touchdown against Penn State on Sept. 26th. In Iowa's most recent 15-13 win at Michigan State, Clayborn had four tackles, two sacks for a minus 19 yards and three tackles for losses totaling 21 yards. He also forced a fumble.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- Iowa State has lost its battle to advance in the Big 12 tournament. Texas pulled away from the plucky Cyclones to win 82-75 yesterday in a hard-fought opening-round game. Marquis Gilstrap scored 17 points for Iowa State, and Craig Brackins added 15.
DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) -- Iowa coach Todd Lickliter's experience with the Big Ten tournament consists only of watching his Hawkeyes lose to Michigan in the opening round. Iowa gets the Wolverines today for the third year in a row, and they're hoping for a different outcome.
DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) -- Ames High basketball star Harrison Barnes has won the national Morgan Wootten Player of the Year award. It honors the top male and female McDonald's All-American selections for accomplishments on and off the court. Barnes has signed with North Carolina.
IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) -- The Iowa wrestling team is preparing for next weekend's NCAA tournament in Omaha, Nebraska. The Hawkeyes took home the Big Ten title for the 34th time last weekend. They'll be the favorites to win the NCAA team title for the third straight year.
