Iowa City (AP) - Iowa's defense is rounding into form, having allowed just two touchdowns through three games.
Arizona's meaningless TD late in a 27-17 loss last weekend snapped a nine-quarter stretch in which the Hawkeyes' defense didn't give up a touchdown.
Iowa's defense will face its biggest challenge yet this Saturday when it faces No. 5 Penn State. The Nittany Lions (3-0) are averaging 30 points per game.
The Hawkeyes (3-0) might have to lean on their defense more heavily against Penn State. Tight end Tony Moeaki , left tackle Bryan Bulaga and wide receiver Derrell Johnson-Kouliano, who missed the win over Arizona, are day-to-day. But Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz isn't optimistic about their chances of playing Saturday.
