Cyclones Getting Healthy as A&M Game Nears
AMES, Iowa (AP) -- Iowa State coach Paul Rhoads believes quarterback Austen Arnaud and running back Alexander Robinson will be ready to play Saturday when the Cyclones (5-3, 2-2 Big 12) face Texas A&M (4-3, 1-2).
Arnaud and Robinson missed last week's win at Nebraska with injuries. Arnaud has a bruised throwing hand and Robinson has been working through a groin injury.
On Monday, Rhoads said the training staff is working to reduce the swelling in Arnaud's hand, which he injured in a win over Baylor on Oct. 17. Rhoads said his gut feeling is that Arnaud will play against the Aggies.
Robinson, the Big 12's leading rusher with 105 yards per game, participated in running drills during Sunday's practice. Rhoads said he "fully anticipates" that Robinson will play this week.
