Stanzi Listed Among Nation's Top Quarterbacks
Iowa City, Iowa (AP) -- Iowa's Ricky Stanzi is one of 15 finalists for the Davey O'Brien Award, which honors the nation's top quarterback.
Stanzi has led the Hawkeyes (8-0, 4-0 Big Ten) to the best start in school history. He's thrown for 1,715 yards and 12 touchdowns, including a 7-yard TD as time expired to help the 7th-ranked Hawkeyes beat Michigan State 15-13 last week.
Other quarterbacks up for the award include Tim Tebow of Florida, Colt McCoy of Texas and Notre Dame's Jimmy Clausen.
Iowa hosts Indiana (4-4, 1-3) on Saturday.
