OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Northern Iowa's reward for knocking off UNLV in the NCAA tournament is a matchup with the tournament's top seed. The ninth-seeded Panthers take on No. 1 Kansas in the second round at Oklahoma City.
UNDATED (AP) -- The women's NCAA basketball tournament opens today. Iowa plays Rutgers in the first round of the Sacramento Regional. That game's in Stanford, California. Tomorrow, Iowa State plays Lehigh at home in Ames and Northern Iowa faces 30-1 Nebraska in Minneapolis.
OMAHA, Neb. (AP) -- Iowa has locked up a third straight team national wrestling title. The Hawkeyes are sending five wrestlers to the finals in Omaha and have built an insurmountable lead over Cornell. They're in position to have their most individual champions since 1997.
UNDATED (AP) -- In spring training baseball yesterday, the Chicago Cubs beat the White Sox 8-4 in Arizona, while the St. Louis Cardinals dropped split squad games in Florida, 7-6 to the Marlins and 13-5 to the Washington Nationals.
