The Blue Demons advance to the semifinals tomorrow against No. 10 Tennessee. Ali Farokhmanesh led Northern Iowa with 12 points. The Panthers will play East Carolina today.
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- Ryan Wedel had 15 points and Seth VanDeest added 13 to lead Drake to a 65-58 victory over Georgia State at the Glenn Wilkes Classic yesterday. Craig Stanley hit a pair of free throws to complete a short surge that put Drake ahead 49-35 nine minutes into the second half. VanDeest's short jumper made it 55-37 with seven minutes remaining.
